Convicted paedophile George St Angeli becomes first man in Britain to have his name struck from Sex Offenders’ Register after landmark ruling

George St Angeli
A convicted paedophile has won a landmark ruling as the first in the country to have his name struck from the Sex Offenders’ Register.

George St Angeli, 71, was jailed for five years at Liverpool Crown Court in 1993 for sex offences against two young girls and released on parole in 1996.

He signed on to the Sex Offenders’ Register in 1997 – but at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday he became the first person in England to win the right to have his name removed from the register.

St Angeli is now free to roam wherever he likes with police, who opposed the appeal, no longer able to track his moves.

In February 2011, the Supreme Court ruled that rapists and paedophiles must have the right to appeal to be removed from the national sex offenders’ register if they have been released from prison for 15 years or more and can prove they are no longer a threat to children.

So he was sentenced to 5 years for sex offences against two girls, released after 3 years, and has now had the slate wiped clean???

I wonder how the girls feel about this?  Well George St Anfeli, you may well be officially off the sex offenders Register, but once a paedophile, always a paedophile, or is there now a cure, after all, a baby has recovered from HIV recently and that was thought to be incurable, so who knows, but you still did it George St Anfeli, so you will always be a recovering paedophile to us. After all George St Anfeli, the report says that one was a nine year old girl who you abused over a six year period. Yea, it was almost certainly her fault, have you found god yet? And the great news is, you can now go on holiday with your wife, hooray, what a wonderful justice system we have.
