Michael Le Vell, who on all accounts still plays Kevin Webster in Granada Televisions Coronation Street (is it still made by “From The North”, Granada?) is the latest in the predicted long line of “so called” celebrity sacrificial paedophiles charged on 19 offences, including rape of a child.
Look, don’t get me wrong here, if guilty, he deserves what he gets, but this whole investigation is still only picking off the bit part players. When are we going to see some of the big names arrested?
Mind you, Le Vell, real name Michael Turner, isn’t the first Corrie actor accused of kiddie fiddling. Peter Adamson, who played Else Tanners bezzie mate Len Fairclough got himself into a bit of bother in a swimming pool didn’t he?
I do realise that bezzie is more Brookside than Corrie, but I get my soaps a bit mixed up sometimes, “me ole pal, me ole beauty”
Talking of Else Tanner, wasn’t she Tony Blairs step mother-in-law? I love it when I can link a story like this to Tony Blair, albeit in a slightly loose way, unlike the time he was arrested for “cottaging” and appeared in court at Bow Street Magistrates Court for importunity in a public toilet with another male. He tried to get sexual favour from the other man; little did he know that the toilet was being watched by police. Blair was fined £500, and walked away with nobody knowing who he really was as he used his middle names to cover who he was. Charles Lynton is the name used, and his friends in court got him off with a fine, because he is one of them.
