Oh god, it’s 12.20, and I really want to go to bed, but I’ve just read something that has annoyed me so much, I’ve got to post it now.
Mr Cameron will tell a City of London audience this morning: “Public disillusionment with the EU is at an all time high.
“People feel that the EU is heading in a direction that they never signed up to.
“The result is that democratic consent for the EU in Britain is now wafer thin.”
In a thinly veiled attack on Labour boss Ed Miliband and Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg – who oppose any poll – he will add: “Some people say that to point this out is irresponsible.
“But the question mark is already there and ignoring it won’t make it go away.
“In fact, quite the reverse. Those who refuse to contemplate consulting the British people, would in my view make more likely our eventual exit.”
A deadline will be set for the landmark referendum to be held “within the first half of the next parliament”, Mr Cameron will also say.
That means by October, 2017.
But before the massive question is to be put to the country, Mr Cameron will ask for a chance to first fix as much as he can that is broken with the EU.
October 2017? Not good enough Dave. Give you time to fix it? This is total political balls. You and probably the Tory party will not be in power in 2017.
Read my lips, the country wants a referendum now, we have had enough of wasting billions on this globalist farce.
